The BALANCƏD project curated by the Roma Bar Show and led by Roberta Mariani aims to promote a more equitable and balanced future for all bar professionals by raising awareness among the bar community about gender equality and equality of opportunity in the hospitality industry, which has often suffered from stereotypes and biases related to gender, sexual orientation, race, and ethnicity, which can impede the growth and development of talent in the industry. One of the key elements of the project consists of a series of interviews with leaders in the bar industry, in which a variety of topics will be addressed, including education, work-life balance, the impact of social media on the industry, and more.
These interviews provide a valuable opportunity to hear and compare the perspectives of professionals with different cultural backgrounds and genders, offering a comprehensive and articulate overview of the industry’s challenges and opportunities. In addition, this inclusive approach aims to promote diversity and equality by encouraging the active participation of all members of the bar community and valuing their unique experiences.
Ultimately, the BALANCƏD project represents an important step toward creating a more inclusive and equitable bar culture in which all people, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, or cultural background, can feel represented and valued.
