Everyone talks about sustainability as the only way to save the planet. Which is interesting and fair, and it also applies to life behind the counter. However, for many it is not enough motivation to pursue sustainable practices. Practices that often seem to add effort to daily work and make it even more complicated.
So why should it really interest us and why should bartenders delve into the subject? Is there a more concrete motivation to really aspire to sustainability? These and other questions will be at the center of the meeting with Mikael Karttunen, Global Brand Ambassador of Koskenkorva Vodka, and we will also try to provide answers thanks to the virtuous work done in recent years by the most sustainable vodka in the world.

Identity is a set of particular features that delimit the BEING. It is a concept applicable to people, projects and associations. Those who manage to connect coherently and stably with the authentic essence of their uniqueness are those who can create an integrating narrative with intention and purpose. Brands, like any individual, only manage to move from being shallow and hollow when they transcend and find a way to connect with what is authentic.
Innovation has created exciting new profiles in the agave world, an industry which heavily relies on tradition, but technical improvements have a bigger challenge if we are to do something to mitigate the effects of climate change. Removing more carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere than is emitted will not be achieved solely by planting trees, but channeling all our technical resources into achieving better and cleaner ways to produce, transport, pack and present our products.
